How to Prepare Floor for Self-leveling Floor

There are several questions that you have to ask yourself before you start the project. If you do not ask yourself these questions, you can later run into problems in an unpleasant way. Which floor do you want to level? The area and coverage requirements. The process of leveling a concrete floor is very different from that of a tiled floor. The surface must be prepared. If part of the floor is damaged, broken, or unstable it must be removed. Use of proper grinding is a must when the floor has previous sealant, paint and adhesives. Grinding a floor requires correct machines. Smaller area can be done with a cub grinder and for large areas we recommend a planetary grinding machines.

The costs of Floor leveling Melbourne

The cost of leveling a floor varies greatly. This depends on so many factors, that there is hardly a set price to give. We can, however, say the following: The floor must be adequate for top coating, timber or tiles installations. Any holes and cracks must be filled. Almost every floor must be treated with a primer. Usually the number of bags that will be required is a good indicator of the total cost. We usually break down the price is two stages a) approximate number of bags required b) set labour cost per day.

How long does the job take?

The preparation work is the most important and can take up to 2/3 of the total time. In principle, the application process does not require much fiddling work if done right because the cement itself self levels. The dry time is dependent on the thickness. It can vary from 6 hours to upto 12 hours.
